The best care

Medical massage is area specific depending upon the patients' needs.  May include all or one of the following modalities or therapies:

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy also known as neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm.  Neuromuscular therapy works by relaxing the muscle in order to release stored lactic acid and encourage blood and oxygen circulation to the muscle to avoid the production of more lactic acid. The therapeutic pressure and massage typically produces initial soreness and "good pain" in muscle tissue.

Deep Tissue Therapy

Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained a non-recent physical injury. It is not uncommon for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two.

The term “deep tissue” is often misused to identify a massage that is performed with sustained deep pressure. Deep tissue massage is a separate category of massage therapy, used to treat particular muscular-skeletal disorders and complaints and employs a dedicated set of techniques and strokes to achieve a measure of relief. It should not be confused with “deep pressure” massage,

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is the application of specific massage techniques to an athlete with the purpose of enhancing the athlete’s preparation for, or recovery from, the physical demands of training or competition.

Specially designed sports massage promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and prepares the body and mind for optimal performance.

Medical massage may also use stretching, Heat and Cold Therapy, and other therapeutic modalities.  Medical massage is performed with the intent of improving conditions or pathologies such as, but not limited to:

  • Headaches

  • Chronic back or neck pain

  • Arthritic conditions

  • Circulatory conditions

  • Neuromuscular conditions

  • Podiatry conditions

  • Orthopedic conditions

  • and many other conditions or pathologies.

As your health and wellness is our main priority, we will assess your condition and develop a treatment plan for your specific needs; working and communicating with your Physician, Physical Therapist or other clinical staff as needed and recommended.
